MN°5 is the second Mixtape in the history of the Mouca/Cartouche collaboration and a clear example of the label's desire to bring people and sounds together. While soundwise it represents a nostalgic nod towards an ending summer, it bears within itself the energy of two lifetimes.
It all starts with The Courtneys and The Anna Thompsons turning our phasers on kill and evoquing the best female summer powerpop, followed by The Yawns and Free Time pushing us up to a much more dreamy atmosphere.
While at high altitude, we meet Barry Cliff (Cranky Booking, Berlin) and he introduce us to the best psych-rock on the german plane, the Delta Love.
Right after that, Ageing Children come out of the cockpit playing the most danceable-noisy track for the trip, letting Islet make their perfect landing at their “Triangulation Station”.
We are now free falling and holding hands with the beautiful Manors while Skiing are on the beach preparing the instrumental orchestration set for the great finale with “Hiddensee”.
On our way home we are followed by the surreal Japanese band Lullatone, three punk-rock girls from Buenos Aires and Owen Ashworth as Advance Base telling everybody that “Love Goes Home to Paris in Spring”.
